Abstract: This paper examines the relationship between electricity and fire. Electricity and fire are often associated together, however the author explains that electricity alone does not cause fires. The article discusses the conditions that exist if electricity is the cause of the fire.

The electricity needs to find a path to a place where heat can be produced, and then the electricity, or electrical energy, must transform to heat energy. The path electricity follows is referred to as a circuit and electrical energy is converted to heat energy because of resistance in the circuit. The heat energy must then reach a temperature capable of igniting.

The article discusses how an electrical circuit works and different components of a circuit, which include conductors, insulators, and switches. The article also provides an in-depth look at energy and how heat energy and electrical energy are related. Electricity changes to heat when its flow meets resistance. The article explains this process in detail.
